I scream, you scream, why is everyone screaming about ice cream?
It was a balmy 31°C at the bottom of the South Island today, so what better recipe to try than ice cream. The recipe is on page 209.
Most homemade ice cream recipes seem to be either custard based or contain condensed milk. This recipe is completely different. The recipe is very easy to follow and has only 3 ingredients.
The resulting ice cream is deliciously rich and creamy. The recipe is also inexpensive to make which is always a good thing especially with supermarket ice cream being quite pricey these days. I made the recipe as written so made vanilla ice cream but many variations are possible just by adding pureed fruit, chocolate or nuts to name but a few.
This recipe is a keeper and is definitely worth giving a go.
I think working out new flavours to try will be great fun. I’m thinking little nuggets of
Turkish delight could be a winner next time I make it. 🙂
Until next time. Happy cooking 🙂
