For the last couple of weeks I have had a real urge to make a cheesecake and today I finally remembered to get some cream cheese with the groceries so I decided to make the cheesecake recipe on page 204.
The recipe is simply called cheesecake and reading through the recipe it seems to make a vanilla/lemon flavoured cake. It is easy to follow and not complicated at all. It uses sour cream as well as cream cheese and this adds a nice tang to the finished cake.
It took me about 15 minutes to throw the recipe together and another 60 minutes for it to chill enough to cut into nice slices. The cheesecake was creamy, smooth and nicely flavoured in fact a family member that dislikes cheesecake in general ate three slices one after the other so I would say it was a definite success!
I think this recipe would lend itself well to other flavourings too. Using raspberries instead of lemon for example. I think you are limited by your own imagination when it comes to this recipe. It is definitely a good one to add to your repertoire.
