Brownie – my one chocolate weakness

I have a confession. I don’t really like chocolate. I know, you would think with the amount of junk in my trunk that I would be chocolates number one fan – but alas, no.

I love recipes that involve bunging everything into a pot

The batter is smooth and shiny

There is one exception to this rule however. Brownies. I can never seem to walk by a slice of brownie warm from the oven *Homer Simpson type drooling noise* So it was with a skip of glee that I tried the coconut chocolate brownie recipe on page 66. The recipe method is a standard method for brownie. It was easy to follow and the cooking time was around 30 minutes so it’s a good option if you need to make something quickly.

A light dusting of icing sugar adds to the yum factor

How did this brownie taste? Well, it was good. The flavour was nice but – and I hate throwing in a but – the texture was a lot like a nice cake rather than the almost fudgy texture I would expect from a brownie. However, I really do think it is yum. Its definitely a recipe worth making and I know I will again soon.

The perfect brownie recipe is in this book!

Here is the good news for my fellow brownie purists out there though. I know it seems like Edmonds may have dropped the brownie ball a wee bit here but no 🙂 In the book “Edmonds Illustrated Cookbook” there is a chocolate brownie recipe that is to die for. If you can find it I really recommend trying it. Im certain it will have you happily drooling al la Homer 🙂 It’s a recipe I use over and over again.

I hope you are all having a fab week.

Until next time. Happy cooking! 🙂
