Southland Cheese Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 can (375 ml) evaporated milk
  • 1 packet (32 g) onion soup mix
  • ½ tsp mixed herbs
  • 1 ½ cups (180 g) tasty cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 loaf thin sandwich slice bread

Method

  • Combine first 4 ingredients in a medium sized saucepan.
  • Cook over a low heat until the cheese melts, stirring constantly. Set aside to cool.
  • Once cool spread on to slices of bread and roll.
  • Cook under a grill until golden and toasted on all sides.

Note: Uncooked Cheese rolls can be frozen.
